We’re no apocalyptic soothsayers either, so we’ve come up with a special menu to celebrate in glory the transition of one brilliant year to another.

We begin with the intensely hued beetroot-glazed salmon in crimson finished with horseradish crumble—a mouthwatering start that combines the sweet and tender salmon with a piquant crunch. This is followed with a delightfully soft and buttery seared foie gras served with a stimulating apple chutney and port wine reduction. As for the pièce de résistance of the night, you will have the option of savouring either pork Wellingtons or black cod en papillotte. The pork Wellingtons come accompanied with Savoy cabbages and drizzled in red wine jus, while the black cod is prepared with white wine, a julienne of vegetables and light Boulangère potatoes.

Just as cheers of goodwill are heard and polychromatic fireworks illuminate the night sky, indulge in a decadent chocolate blancmange complemented with cappuccino sauce, or simply recline and enjoy the festivities from our balcony to the sound of comfortable whirring fan blades with coffee and friandise. Yuletide Festivities At Hartamas Shopping Centre

50 Foot Dandelion Arrives In Asia For Heineken Thirst 2012

Wish, a 50 foot LED dandelion has arrived at Sepang International Circuit right on the heels of Malaysia’s premier electronic music festival, Heineken Thirst happening this 8 December.



Installation of the towering structure is in progress & will be ready for its Asian debut. Already a favourite at international music festivals like Coachella Festival, Electric Daisy Carnival and Nocturnal Wonderland, the 50 foot high Wish will be a sight to behold this Saturday.

Designed by San Francisco public art conceptualist Robert James, Wish consists of ‘three contemporary dandelions that are losing their seeds in the wind’. Clad in aluminium leaves and mirrored glass, the structure is edged with pulsating LEDs that react to the beats of music surrounding it.


“Wish is a figurative sculpture of three dandelions losing their seeds in the wind. As a child, I was always told when you held a dandelion and blew the seeds off, that a wish was to be made. Building it from ground up for the first time here in Asia will be nostalgic and as epic as Heineken Thirst,” says its creator, Robert James.

This year, Heineken Thirst features 12 DJs performing in two arenas with Avicii and Justice both making their Malaysian debut. They are joined by top flight talents from abroad: Above & Beyond, Gesaffelstein, Brodinski and Heineken Thirst alumnus: Goldfish and Blink, LapSap, Mr Nasty and GuruGuru, Phil K Lee, Tommy Cham, Nick Haydez, Jee Hoe and Hypeembeats,

Meet & Greet With Ian Rush At Courts Setapak

In conjunction with the Liverpool F.C International Academy (Liverpool Academy) Courts is pleased to announce the legendary footballer Ian Rush will be making a special in store appearance for Liverpool football fans alike.  The meet and greet will take place at Courts, Setapak on Sunday 2 December, 2012 from 11am until 12pm.


Ian is here in his capacity as head mentor and coach for the Liverpool Academy which will be taking place from 3 – 14 December at Persada Plus Mini Stadium.  The Academy endorsed by Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) is an opportunity for children to experience an international coaching programme taught and guided by Ian and his team of three expert Liverpool coaches. 

A player that really needs no introduction, Ian has trademarked his skills on the football pitch as one of Liverpool’s top strikers, scoring a total of 346 goals in over 600 appearances.  Signing on as a young talent to the renowned football club, Rush too started off learning the tactical game through ‘The Liverpool Way’.  It is without doubt a privilege to mark his return to Malaysia for this once in a lifetime experience for all Malaysian youngsters.

Free Egg McMuffin On McDonald's Breakfast Day

To make a good breakfast an essential part of a great morning, McDonald’s has recently called on the entire nation to join the McDonald’s Breakfast Day movement on 19 November 2012.



From 7am to 10am, each of the 215 McDonald’s Breakfast Restaurants nationwide will offer a FREE Egg McMuffin to the first 1,000 customers. The movement will see more than 200,000 Malaysians showing support at McDonald's Breakfast Restaurants across the country.

All McDonald’s head office staff will be joining the excitement and lending on-site support to McDonald’s breakfast restaurants around Klang Valley. Managing Director of McDonald’s Malaysia and Regional Manager of McDonald’s Malaysia & Singapore, Sarah Casanova will be heading down to McDonald’s Mutiara Damansara Drive-thru restaurant to serve the first Egg McMuffin of the day.

Sales Engineer Wins RM160K Volkswagen Golf TSI from P1

Imagine winning yourself a brand new Golf TSI. Imagine no more, as last week, 43-year-old Sales Engineer, Ng Joo Inn subscribed to a P1 ForHome™ broadband plan, and won the much coveted bonus of a brand new Volkswagen Golf TSI worth RM160,000.  Ng subscribed to P1 when the service provider was running its “iPunya Buy & Win Contest” with the Golf TSI as the grand prize.



At the prize-giving ceremony held at the P1 headquarters today, Ng who was obviously ecstatic with his big win which came tied with a bow, said, “I’ve never won anything this grand before. I’m excited and happy beyond words.”

James Bond Skyfall "Crack The Case" With Heineken

As actor Daniel Craig reprise his role as James Bond this October, he will also be featured in Heineken’s thrilling marketing and digital campaign called ‘Crack the Case’ for the first time ever alongside stunning Bond newcomer Bérénice Marlohe.



Heineken has extended its 15 year partnership with the James Bond franchise. It will introduce an unprecedented and innovative global marketing campaign to support the launch of the new film SKYFALL. This is the 23rd film in the James Bond series, and the 6th consecutive James Bond film that the Heineken brand has been involved with.

UMW Toyota Motor Championing Green Growth @ IGEM 2012

UMW Toyota Motor Sdn. Bhd participated in the 3rd International Greentech & Eco Products Exhibition and Conference Malaysia (IGEM) by displaying the world’s popular Hybrid vehicles, the all new PRIUS c and the new, improved version of the 3rd generation Toyota PRIUS. The three day conference was held from 10th to 13th October 2012 at Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre.

Ricoh Malaysia ‘Make A Change In 100 Minutes’ Comic Contest

Held in conjunction with the launch of their Aficio SP 100e series black & white printer, Ricoh launched their ‘Make A Change In 100 Minutes’ comic contest on the 16th October 2012, combining the popular medium of comic books with the good intentions of Malaysians. This contest will run from 1 October to 9 December 2012 and is open to all Malaysians aged 16 and above.


To take part in this contest, participants are required to produce a comic strip detailing just how they would make a difference in 100 minutes, utilizing their own drawing style. Each entry must follow the theme of ‘Make A Change In 100 Minutes’. The comic must be a minimum of 10 comic panels in a single A4 page, must be in black & white and is required to be an original idea.

Participants are then required to submit their comic strip to the RICOH MALAYSIA (Official) Facebook Page by 31 October 2012. Technical details on submissions are listed on Ricoh’s Facebook page. Between 1 - 18 November 2012 the top 100 finalists receiving the most “Likes” from the public and Ricoh will proceed to the grand finale where their works will be displayed.

Comic strips that make it to the finale will undergo another voting session, where they will be judged by the public and a special guest judge. Prizes are impressive: The winner for the comic contest will walk away with RM 5,000 cash and an SP 100 SF e (print, scan, fax and photocopy functions), while the 1st runner up and 2nd runner up will take home RM 3,000 with an SP 100 SU e (print, copy and scan functions) and RM 1,500 with an SP 100 e (print function) respectively.

Tiger Woods Is Coming To Mines!

Personally I'm not a fan of golfing, in fact I can't golf. Would love to try it out one day given the chance though. Anyway this post is to share on a piece of news which I've gotten wind of. Tiger Woods will be making his appearance at the Mines Resort and Golf Club from 25th to 28th October 2012 for the CIMB Classic.


Tiger Woods Is Coming To Mines!

This will be second time playing in the same course after emerging as champion in the 1999 World Cup of Golf. The event will be a big boost for the Mines Resort and Golf Club located within Mines Resort City as world renowned players such as reigning champion Bo Van Pelt and Ben Crane of the United States will be joining in line up as well. CIMB Classic will feature 48 players including 30 from the USPGA Tour and 10 from the Asian Tour.

Palace of the Golden Horses and Mines Wellness Hotel are the on-site tournament hotel for the Southeast Asia’s only USPGA Tour sanctioned event. Both hotels will be offering special room rates together with season passes for the four day event.

Astro On-The-Go Now Available For Android Devices

I've been enjoying Astro On-The-Go for the past month or so on my iPhone and iPad, and it's definately good news to share that now the app has gone live on Android devices as well. Spread the love, and enjoy selected Astro channels on your favourite device.

Following the successful launch of Astro On-The-Go for iOS devices, Android users can now rejoice, as the Astro On-The-Go application is now available in Google Play for free starting with selected Samsung devices. For Astro customers with Android devices to enjoy the Astro On-The-Go experience, Astro has extended the preview period for Astro On-The-Go to all Astro customers.

Lexus Malaysia Roadshow Goes Nationwide

The Lexus roadshows are part of the outreach programme that aims to introduce the Lexus brand and models to a wider audience. The roadshows will take place at KLCC, Kuala Lumpur, from 1st - 5th September, Sutera Mall, Johor Bharu, from the 21st - 23rd September and Gurney Plaza Mall, Penang, from 27th - 30th September.
